NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – On April 29 and 30, participants of the ASTANA OPERA International Opera Academy will present to the audience of the capital two versions of the new concert program Masterpieces of Vocal Chamber Music. Young singers will perform art songs by famous composers: Debussy, Massenet, Strauss, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Tosti and others, Kazinform learned from the Astana Opera Press Service.

For the second time in a row, the future singers will delight fans of opera music with a double performance. Moreover, the two concerts are once again completely different from each other.

Participants of the opera academy always prepare very seriously for their appearance before the audience, and the repertoire of the works they perform differs significantly from other musical programs of Astana Opera. Teachers and students focus on viewers, striving to pleasantly surprise them with beautiful voices and an exclusive selection of works.

Acting classes play an important role in preparing singers. With the support of the main actress of the Russian Academic Drama Theater of Gorky, Svetlana Fortuna, who shares with them the secrets of her profession and helps them to untie, the participants of the academy reveal all their talents.

“Any stage job requires artistic talent to make a lasting impression on the public,” notes the teacher. “It is a necessary quality for any musical performer, but only for singers it is associated with the art of acting. As you know, Stanislavsky wrote his opera singer Fyodor Chaliapin training system. Now it is successfully used mainly in dramatic theater, and it is only beginning to return to musical theatrical art. The goal of the Stanislavsky system is to educate actors in the ability to arbitrarily transfer mental activity into the mode of natural response to unrealistic stimuli. The more an opera singer has developed his acting skills and his psyche, the more the audience will be imbued with musical dramaturgy.

In addition to lessons with vocal and acting coaches, young soloists learn the main language of opera – Italian, study vocal traditions, scenic movement, all with the aim of diverse development.

“We are not only researching and improving our vocal box, but we are also striving to study the disciplines directly related to the art of opera,” says Elmira Shpekbayeva, a participant in the ASTANA OPERA International Opera Academy. “Our teacher Anatoli Goussev is a great professional who brought me a lot. I literally feel the changes taking place in me: vocal growth, improvement in my technique, emergence of confidence. After finishing my studies at the academy, I would really like to perform at the Astana Opera, because it is an opera house of international level, where highly professional conductors and singers work. Of course, it would also be very interesting to perform on foreign stages.”

His colleague, Talgat Allabirinov, studies with Francesco Medda and is also inspired by the possibility of acquiring knowledge that is not available in other educational institutions in the country.

“I thank my lucky stars for passing the audition process for the ASTANA OPERA International Opera Academy and for studying with teachers of such a level. Our Maestro explains how it is necessary to interpret the works of such and such an author, because each of them has its specificity, its structure and its dynamics”, shares the young interpreter. “My main goal is to become an opera singer, and this academy is a big step towards achieving that.”

It will be possible to attend the performances of the International Opera Academy on April 29 and 30 at the Baiseitova Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera.
